Committee 2020

President Miroslav Gasparek

alt text Miro is a first year DPhil student in Engineering Science. He works under the supervision of Professor Antonis Papachristodoulou and focuses on the design and construction of the genetic feedback circuits for practical applications. In other words, Miro wants to make sure that cells do the things that we want them to do! He believes that Synthetic Biology has immense potential to solve major healthcare, societal, and environmental challenges. He is passionate about building synthetic cells and good coffee.

Secretary Corinna Hartinger

alt text Corinna is a first year DPhil student on the Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP. Her interests lie in Plant Sciences, specifically in turning them into production platforms to foster a sustainable bioeconomy. Outside of the lab and greenhouse she enjoys Arts and Crafts.


Treasurer Carolin Schulte

alt text Carolin is a third year DPhil student on the Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP. She is supervised by Antonis Papachristodoulou (Engineering Science) and Philip Poole (Plant Sciences) and is trying to understand and manipulate beneficial plant-microbe interactions. Carolin is passionate about translating science into real-world applications. She co-founded the start-up Inulox Ltd. and is a committee member of the iGEM Entrepreneurship Program.
